• SOAP BOX DERBY (13th St. & Franklin Ave.) Registration ends at 5:30 p.m. on race day.  Open Age 7 yrs old to Adult-- NO entry fee Race begins at 6:00 p.m.

• KIDS’ NIGHT AT THE RACES (Franklin Ave between 11th and 12th Street.) Ages 10 and under Fun—Games--Prizes  Fun begins at 6:30 p.m.

• RACK AND ROLL 8-BALL SINGLES POOL TOURNAMENT (The Spotted Pig Restaurant/Sports Bar) 8-Ball Singles $10 entry fee per person Starts at 7:00 p.m.

 

LHS Cheerleaders to Serve Salad Luncheon to “Jump” Start your Work Week at the Lexington Community Fair

Let the LHS Cheerleaders “JUMP” start your week at the Lexington Community Fair. The Lexington High School Cheerleaders will be serving a salad luncheon at the Presbyterian Disciples Church Fellowship Hall on Monday, August 13th  from 11:00 a.m. -- 2:00 p.m.  The cost is $7.00 per person.  Carry out will be available.  This event is a fund-raiser for the LHS cheerleaders so come out to support their efforts and give them something to “Cheer” about.

Be sure to take a chance on the “LHS Spirit” basket that will be given away during fair week to one lucky winner!

Margaret Gray Center to host Tenth Annual Fried Chicken Dinner at

the Lexington Community Fair

 The Margaret Gray Center is hosting their Tenth annual fried chicken dinner fundraiser at the Lexington Community Fair on Monday, August 13th, from 4:30 p.m.  -  6:30 p.m.  They will be serving fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, bread, and dessert for $8.00 per person.

 There will also be door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, a pie auction, entertainment, and more during this event.  The center invites all to come out and enjoy the fun, food, and fellowship as Lexington gets ready to experience our annual fair week.

 

 

Leslie Bell Elementary PTO FOOD SHACK

Leslie Bell PTO will be serving all your summertime favorites during the Soapbox Derby and Kid’s Night at the Races on Monday, August 12, beginning at 5:30 p.m.  We will be located on the corner of 12th and Franklin Avenue.  Please support LBS PTO as we “Gear Up” for the upcoming school year.

 

 Funds will be used for school field trips, classroom supplies and building equipment.

 

 

SOAPBOX DERBY

Come join in the fun on Monday, August 12th for our Sixth Annual SOAPBOX DERBY Race beginning at 6 p.m.  This exciting event is open to participants ages 7 to 100.

 

There are two basic goals in Lexington’s Soapbox Derby:  Be Fast and Be Creative.  The fastest cars in each class will race for the Grand Champion Trophy and every car will be eligible for the People’s Choice Trophy for most Creative Design.

 

The “Pit Area” and Registration Desk will be in the NASB parking lot and the race track will be on Franklin Avenue from 13th Street to 12th Street.

 

Please come out and join us for this fun and exciting event.  No-where else will you see some of the wacky, innovative car designs that you will find at the Lexington Community Fair SOAPBOX DERBY.  So here’s the perfect chance for you and your family to have some fun and get creative!

 

Complete Rules and Registration forms are available at NERD’S Hardware and are due by 5:30 p.m. the day of the event.  We encourage participants to get their registration forms in early as space could be limited.

“COOL YOUR ENGINES” WITH A SPLASHING GOOD TIME !!!

On Monday, August 12th   at 6:30 p.m. we invite all kiddos ages ten and under to join us in “Cooling their Engines” on a hot summer’s eve.   Enter the Water Balloon 500, the Wet-Noodle Relay, and other splashing fun.  What will be your coolest contest.  We will be on Franklin Avenue between 11th and 12th streets.

 

 Water Balloon 500:  Get splashed with fun, as water balloons will be thrown to all participants!  Each balloon will be given a value, the first contestant to catch (and not break) balloons adding up to 500 pints will be deemed the winner!  How soggy will the winner be?

 

 Wet-Noodle Relay:  It’s relay time!  Who will be the winner of this drenching duel?  Pool Noodles will be affixed with cups that will hold water during this saturating good time.  Participants will be divided into groups and the relay winner will have the most water in their cup at the finish line!

 

Dress to get wet and SOAK up a good time!!!

 

 

RACK AND ROLL 8-BALL Pool Tournament’s

 It’s “Cue-Time” all week long at Lexington’s downtown local sports bar—The Spotted Pig/Sports Bar.  Please join us for numerous 8-ball billiard pool tournaments that will take place as part of the Schedule of Events for the Lexington Community Fair.

 

 “Chalk is Cheap” as an amateur or a pro, you are sure to find a tournament night to match your pool expertise!

 Come one, come all, you are sure to have a ball, as we “break” this returning sporting event in at the 2018 Festival.

 Pay out for each night is 100% of the entry fees, with 1st Place receiving 75% and 25% going to the 2nd Place finisher.

 

Tournament times and entry fees are as follows:

 Monday, August 13th -------8-Ball Singles-------------------------------- $10 entry fee per person

 Tuesday, August 14th  -------9-Ball Singles------------------------------- $10 entry fee per person
