FRIENDS OF THE FRIENDLESS TO HOST “BONES AND CONES”

There’s something for everyone (two-legged or 4-legged) at the City’s biggest dog event of the year “The Annual Lexington Community Fair Strut Your Mutt Dog Show.”  We all like the new and the unusual.  The local animal rescue group “Friends of the Friendless” will host their 1st ever “Bones and Cones” in conjunction with the annual dog show as a fundraiser for the rescue group.

Friends of the Friendless volunteers invite you to the “pawty” that will take place on Wednesday evening, August 15th in front of the Lafayett County Courthouse starting at 6:30 p.m.

One of several fundraising events of the evening will be a “Pies for Pooches” contest.  From 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. people may purchase a ticket for a “pie” made of whip cream for $3.00.  That ticket will then be placed in a drawing basket.  Throughout the evening winning tickets will be drawn from the basket and winners will be given a chance to pick from one of three contestants to receive the pie in the face.

Three small plastic swimming pools with folding chairs will sit waiting for those on the receiving end of the pie.  The Friends of the Friendless Animal Rescue Group invites you to come see who the unlucky contestants will be that night.

Don’s have a dog?  No worried—Come hand out and find out more about this “Bone-A-Fied” group of animal lovers that helps find missing animals or animals in need of a forever home.

The group also hosts an adoption drive each month on the first Saturday of the month at the Lexington Nuts & Bolts location.
